So with the new years a couple of days away I have decided it was about time to commit to writing a football blog week in week out as opposed to previous attempts of one every month or so and then forgetting all about it.

Hopefully I can cover a range of football related topics from Plymouth Argyle in League Two and the England national team in a world cup year.

All levels of football will get mention from Premiership to the Skrill Premier.

As the new years about to turn we have Arsenal going into the new year a single point above Manchester City and Chelsea just one point off City so the second half of the Premiership 's looking a tasty proposition.

In the Championship Leicester City lead the way four points above Derby and Burnley tied in second / third. Just below them you have QPR and Forest waiting for any slip ups from the top three to take advantage of.

In League One surprisingly Brentford lead the way above Orient and Wolves both just a point off the leaders.

Then to League Two which is by far the closest from any of the professional leagues. The whole league only separated by only 22 points.
The top three all on 41 points only divided by goal difference Chesterfield followed by Scunthorpe the Burton Albion.
Plymouth sit in 14th on 30 points only 11 off top spot which shows what a few wins on the bounce would mean to any team in this closely contested division.

Finally the Skrill Premier Luton Town and Cambridge lead the way 6-7 points above third so hopefully we shall see the return automatically of one of the former league clubs come May.
